Painting

Paintwork is not a cosmetic layer. It is a functional surface that protects, preserves and defines the identity of a vehicle over time.

At VTI Engineering, paint and surface finishing are treated with the same engineering-driven approach applied to engines and mechanical systems. Every intervention is evaluated in relation to materials, structural integrity, historical correctness and long-term durability.

We work on classic Alfa Romeo bodywork using period-correct processes when authenticity is required, or technically superior modern solutions when performance, protection and longevity demand it — always respecting the original design language of the car.

Engineering Before Aesthetics

Before any paint is applied, we perform a complete analysis of the bodywork:

  • metal condition and structural integrity
  • previous repairs and material compatibility
  • surface geometry and tolerances
  • intended use of the vehicle (road, collection, historic racing)
This allows us to define a finishing strategy that is coherent, durable and technically sound — avoiding purely cosmetic solutions that degrade over time.

Processes & Finishing

Our paint and surface work may include:

  • bodywork correction and metal preparation
  • period-correct paint systems for classic restorations
  • advanced coatings for improved protection and longevity
  • surface treatments integrated with restomod and bespoke projects

Every finish is designed to age properly, remain serviceable, and be consistent with the vehicle’s mechanical and historical character.

Functional Restoration, Not Cosmetic Work

The objective is never visual impact alone.
A VTI-painted body is meant to be driven, maintained and understood — not simply displayed.

Paint becomes part of the vehicle’s engineering system: protecting structure, preserving materials and supporting long-term value.
